Refrigeration Equipment Utilizing Screw Compressors
A screw chiller is a type of refrigeration equipment that employs screw compressors and operates via a vapor-compression refrigeration cycle. Based on their heat dissipation method, these units can be categorized into water-cooled screw chillers and air-cooled screw chillers. Their primary applications include providing a cold source for air conditioning systems, as well as supplying process cooling in industrial manufacturing, data centers, and similar environments. In settings with strict low-temperature requirements-such as the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food freezing industries, as well as scientific research laboratories-low-temperature screw chillers can be utilized to provide a low-temperature cooling medium ranging from -40°C to 0°C.
These units may feature high-efficiency semi-hermetic twin-screw compressors; some product models adopt an integrated design, consolidating the main refrigeration unit, water pumps, expansion tanks, and other components into a single assembly. In terms of structural design, certain models incorporate a movable base plate for mounting the screw compressor, thereby facilitating maintenance; others are equipped with detachable and replaceable protective components to ensure adaptability across diverse operating environments. Equipment operation is typically managed and monitored via a control panel, while installation and commissioning must strictly adhere to specific procedures and technical standards. The energy efficiency of these units is benchmarked against the GB 19577 standard, encompassing key metrics such as the Coefficient of Performance (COP) and the Integrated Part Load Value (IPLV).
