Modern screw chiller control panels typically offer multiple function pages, including a main screen, operation, system, display, settings, and alarms. The main screen provides quick operation buttons for basic unit control, viewing system information, operating status, alarm information, and setting changes. The operation page allows users to select local, remote, time-based, or test control modes and manually increase/decrease loads to adjust compressor energy. The display page shows key operating parameters in real time, such as chilled water inlet and outlet temperatures, cooling water inlet and outlet temperatures, unit energy, and operating time. The settings page is used to configure operating parameters (such as outlet water temperature setting and start-up temperature difference) and protection parameters (such as pressure and temperature alarm thresholds). The alarm page displays real-time and historical alarm information.

Control systems generally employ an architecture where a programmable logic controller (PLC) and a touchscreen work together. This architecture supports a combination of centralized and distributed control. For example, in a multi-compressor modular unit, the main PLC can coordinate the control of each compressor based on the main pipe water temperature, while each compressor can also be independently controlled based on its own detected parameters, greatly improving the reliability of the entire system. The control system uses communication protocols (such as Modbus, Modbus TCP/IP) to achieve internal data exchange and connection with the host computer or central control room.

Advanced intelligent control systems have broken through the traditional start-stop mode, enabling automatic load adjustment, fault early warning, energy consumption analysis, and predictive maintenance. The system can dynamically adjust the load according to the periodic fluctuations in building cooling demand, avoiding energy waste. By integrating sensor networks and algorithm models, the system can monitor and analyze the operating status, provide early warnings of potential faults, and optimize operating strategies based on historical data, achieving refined energy efficiency management.
